Clarity and Change

So, my friends, it has been a while since I have corresponded with you. I apologize if I have inconvenienced you in any way by missing two months of newsletters. I have made some changes to my website and to what I offer that I hope will help me support you.

In many ways, I have avoided being clear about what specific services I offer. I realized since Thanksgiving that I wanted to be clearer about what I offer you, as a coach. When you access www.doorwayscoaching.com, you will find a clear offering of my services.

It occurred to me during this time that often we avoid being clear about many things in our lives because it calls us to a greater commitment and focus, which inevitably leads to some form of change. Change can be scary. It is a venture into the unknown.

What if we embraced change? What if we were willing to commit to something that we knew involved change? Since the only constant we can depend upon is that things change, why not choose the change to come instead of reacting to it. Go ahead…make a positive change in one way with your daughter today.

Here are some of my suggestions:
• Instead of you being in charge of dinner tonight ask her to make or decide about dinner
• Instead of asking her how her day was …tell her about your day
• Listen to her radio station on the way to her activities
• Ask her to take a walk and accept if she declines
• Hug her, hold her hand, and show her how precious she is to you in some physical way.

Choosing the changes we wish to make in our lives empowers us to live fully.
